Actually Dave I was given a new mobile phone by my wife two weeks ago
( a gift for suffering though this darn knee reconstruction) its a
Nokia N95 8GB. Darn amazing phone and it has a standard GPS receiver
built in. Also came with a free 6 month trial to the maps application.
The GPS receiver works the same as a standard magellon, eg way points
etc. Then with the maps app it works like an in car navigator. The
problem with the later is it downloads the maps via the phone (they
are always up to date though) so downloads are big. It doesnt matter
when i am in the city on the 3 Network but when roaming on the telstra
network..... OUCH. An of course if there is no mobile signal...there
are no maps.
Cheers
Jason
