[Maced] YouTube downloads legal?

Copyright always has and no doubt always will containa a few grey  
areas. Recent changes to what a teacher can and cannot do under  
copyright have made things a lot easier for teachers.

The grey area here seems to be the question of "availability" - if it  
is blocked it's not available so does that mean you can download it?  
even though the blocking is your school/ edn systems's fault and not  
the fault of YouTube? Lots of equal arguments on both sides of that one.

The best method I've found is to download the file in its original flv  
format, many sites promise to do this but at the moment the best for  
me is (www.downloadyoutubevideos.com) then put it through iSquint to  
convert to an mp4 which will then work with iTunes - iPods - iTV

If it is a good educational clip then it may well also be on  
TeacherTube where the download issue is less grey.
