Anne-Maree,

It may work if you hold the Function (fn) key (bottom left of  
keyboard) and then press F7.

Otherwise, going to the Displays System Preference and turning on  
Mirroring should do the trick.

on my laptop screen.
It's just showing a background display, not even the mouse.
On my last laptop I pushed F7 and it changed the screen but it doesn't  
seem to do the same anymore.
Help please.
