Hi Tony,

Haven't tried these for a while, but in the 'free' dept...

• Drawberry - http://raphaelbost.free.fr/main.php?menu=3&id=6

• Inkscape - http://www.inkscape.org/

And of course...

• AppleWorks is still up to the task, even in 10.5.

• iWorks' Pages also includes some simple drawing tools in the page
layout mode (and you can get a school license now for $300 - 500 seats
plus 50 staff!)

Also, depending on what you need to do....

• Drawwell - http://www.drawwell.com/

• CADintosh - http://www.lemkesoft.com/

• DrawIt - http://www.getdrawit.com/

I have some links to these and similar sorts of stuff at:

HTH,
Warren
