[Maced] Sharing photos in schools

As well as setting up a central photo repository (FYI we just use a shared folder in the Groups folder) for teachers, I think it's really important to have their own photo collections in their home directories, for use with KidPix, PowerPoint/Keynote, iWeb, Comic Life etc.
Also, access to lots of cheap digital cameras really promotes ownership of the process.
With little kids, Macs are so far ahead of windows in terms of digital photo integration into apps, it's like comparing a Honda Accord Euro with a Morris Marina!
Cheers

I am interested to hear how others are managing the sharing of photos
on their school networks. Excursions, special events, etc.
Over the years I have used many options for sharing photos on school
networks - simply dumping all the photos into a shared folder, the
original iPhoto's export to a web page, then Galerie, and more
recently iWeb's photo albums (along with a few other dalliances on the
way!)
Each has their pros and cons. Though I think that the web album
option, shared on the Intranet, is probably the way to go. With a new
network user (eg photos08) created each year to try to make it all a
bit more manageable. And archivable.
At the moment I am thinking that for up to 100 photos that iWeb is OK,
if a big "fat". For more than that, then Galerie is a bit more elegant
and produces pages that load faster than iWeb.
Any thoughts? Other options?
Thanks,
Warren
